So my great idea for displaying the 'donation in lieu of favors' note looks like a 5 year old did it. Is it tacky to put it on top of the menu with a welcome message. Something like:
'We thank you all for joining us on our special day. In lieu of favors,....'
Menu Beef Chicken, etc.

It is not tacky, but I am not a fan of the child-like text style. I think a donation scroll should look elegant, not childish. But that is just my opinion. Of course you have to do what you like best.

Oh I shoudl have explained the child thing. I had gone to a wedding where the bride (a graphic artist) had cut out little butterflies and rested them on the wine glass at your seat. On the butterflies wings it said 'In lieu of a donation...' So I decide I am going to do something similiar. I tried flowers and hearts instead of butterflies...it looked like a 5 year old did it in art class. Apparently all my Martha Stewartness has been sucked out of me at 2 weeks before the wedding! My alternative was to put it on top of the menus. I was looking for something different than the scrolls.....I stink. Thanks for your help though. Any other ideas are appreciated! :)
