i'm having my invites custom made by my friend who is a graphic designer b/c i just couldnt get what i wanted any other way... she suggested I use a post card for our response cards, I love the idea no envelopes to open, no problems with the postage and size issues.. is it to informal? the other side would be our monogram? our wedding is a daytime weddig, not as if I'm having a black tie event. I really want to do this, but I need feedback, thanks ladies!

Re: is this tacky?
I think this is starting to gain popularity...I've heard though, that some people become confused and don't know how to send back the card...

Re: is this tacky?
It is not at all tacky? My sister use the three fold invitation for her wedding. We just had to mail the RSVP Post Card back. Beautiful and Simple. Very nice choice.

I had a friend who used them and some never made it. They are very flimsy.
I don't think tacky is the isuue, it's the reliability of it.
Good Luck!

Re: is this tacky?
I used post cards. Mine wasn't a very formal wedding, either. Mine were oversized, though, so I still had to pay regular postal rates. Oh well. But I liked them, and I got good feedback on them. And most people returned them--but then I hear lots of people have issues with RSVPs, I don't think it was the postcard! I have a picture, I think:

Did they not make it because people didnt realize to mail it back? or the post office lost the post cards? If they didn't realize to mail, maybe I can come up with a catchy poem to let people know to mail it on the actual rsvp....

Re: is this tacky?
That's the best I can do with the resizer. Oh, wait, I might have a scan of it. My invites had an art nouveau image on them, and that postcard is an original art nouveau postcard. I stamped the back with crocuses in pearlescent ink. I was quite proud of them. They were on really nice torn-edge ecru paper.
It depends on the paper--like I said, mine were on thick paper, and they were the size of a standard greeting card, not a postcard size. That said, I'm not sure I got all of them--one day I was throwing out a bunch of catalogs that had just arrived and an RSVP fell out. Stupid mailman had let it get stuck inside a catalog. Which really pissed me off, who knows what mail I'm missing? After that, we've been shaking our catalogs. Still, I don't really think any others were lost. Just insist on bigger paper, it's still cheaper as you're not paying for an envelope.
And I'm sorry I don't have a great shot of it to post--I do have a couple, but they have our names and address visible and I'm too tired to photoshop them now!

Re: is this tacky?
Hmmmm......I knew to send it back because it was perforated. It was also stamped.
Maybe it was because they were smaller than your usually postcard and made out of cheap paper (sorry to say). Not heavy at all. Hers were very flimsy.
I think it would have been good if they were larger and heavier.
Not really sure why they didn't make it.......I am thinking it was because if these issues.
Post cards are a good idea though.

I know GettingHutched used them. They seem like a good idea and save you some money on postage.
