to put in our wedding website in the part of reception hall the name of the place and that it is an adult reception only... so when people get the STD with the wedding website they know in advance that their little ones are not goint to be invited

Re: Is this tacky...
what if you had a little note at the bottom or on your OOT page worded like...
for those of you with little ones, _____
and then you can say you will be providing babysitting at the hotel
or you can list a recommended babysitter and their #

then you can put... for those of you with little ones, the bride and groom would be happy to help you find a reputable babysitter.
or something. they will get the message

I would put 'Adult Only Reception to follow at....' I would HOPE that should be enough of an explanation.

Nope, I dont think its tacky, I think it gives them more time to find someone to watch their children if they have them

Re: Is this tacky...
Good Idea But ONLY do it on the wedding website Get the word of mouth out politely to the guests in casual conversation.
Most people will understand when the envelopes are addressed to Mr and Mrs and or Sue and Bob Smith. w/out family.

i agree. i don't think it's tacky. the people who get offended are the same ones who think they have a right to bring their kids to your wedding on your dime.

i dont' think that's tacky at all..... people put it on their reply cards, so why not on a STD. weddings receptions are adult functions... i don't think you're out of line for not having children there... i didn't, we only had the flower girl and the two boys that were our altar servers.

I agree with gemmifer and bluegreen08. Use word of mouth and gentle but firm language that you're not inviting kids.
