Yes, the gift is not expected, as you said...So, I guess the part you are asking about is the 2 dollars.
and personally, i have been caught out without singles for the valet before. I think asking your FH for the $$ was a bit tacky - were you two the only people she knew well? Maybe that was it...

it IS tacky, but maybe she wasn;t expecting the palce to have valet parking. I never cary singles, you will hardly ever catch me with any cash. It may not be the best way to be, but it's posisble she was caught off guard and your Fh was the only one shge trusted to ask for the $$ b/c she was embarassed. I'm sure she would only ask for the $2 if she needed it. If she was caught wihtout the $2 what else was she supposed to do?

what exactly are you asking us is tacky? That she asked for 2 dollars??? no i don't think that is tacky...it happens ETA...i am assuming this is a close friend..so asking for 2 bucks cause she didn't have it on her...it is an innocent error... i ask friend for cash when if i am stuck without all the time and vice versa...i don't think there is anything tacky with that...

yea Im sure she didnt think twice about it and just didnt have $$ on her. I wouldnt look to much into it.
