Is this tacky... (poll)

The wedding is in Virginia a few hours north of Raleigh NC. The couple lives in Durham.

Next to the wedding invitation is another invitation that says 'Please join us for a welcome dinner honoring ... BRIDE AND GROOM' and it has the address and all. The rest of the weekends' events are all at this resort place in VA (including an after party whose hours are listed (and I quote) as

After Party: 9pm-till

It really says that. Just '9pm-till'

Everything is at this resort place except for the welcome dinner. Is it like a rehearsal dinner? I couldn't really tell. But I get the impression everyone was invited to it if the RSVP cards ask you right away if you're coming to it. I wonder if that's buffet since there's no cow or chicken or carrot on it.

I think I'm going to order the carrot. I wish there was a little tuna fish on the card. Maybe Charlie the tuna. I think I may have checked that instead.

The affair is Black Tie Optional, too. I have no clue what NC/VA black tie optional means, either.

OMG... I saw soemthign like that before.
When I showed it to FH he was so determined to do the same thing. but just for fun. he wanted to put a pic of cow, chicken and MONKEY...

just to see how guest would react and who would select monkey
i really had to fight him on that

i think it's cute. I didn't really think about it past the cute little graphic. I've heard of selecting dinner choices beforehand, but I've never actually seen it around here...

Those RSVP cards are so funny but i get it alot of out of state people do that but those graphics are just so funny. On their STD they spelled rehearsal wrong lol

Yeah I noticed the word was misspelled also but had to do a double take on it

I think it's kind of funny...but this is coming from a longtime vegetarian. When I was a kid and ate meat, I used to call different kinds of meat by the animal it originated from. (ie., burgers were 'cow', porkchops were 'pig') Maybe that's why I think it's funny?
