OK, so the bridal shop first told me they would order me a new slip and it would be $60. Then it came in and they told me $120. I was like WHAT? The owner was ON THE PHONE with the company with me STANDING right there when she told me 60. Anyway, the slip comes in and it's not even the right one, which wouldn't have mattered because they already sold it to someone else and were like 'oh we were gonna order you another one'. Oh, okay, whatever. So I said, you know what, forget it. I want the sample because it is JUST right. Not too bog, not too small. The thing was ripped, torn, and tattered, held together by a string and a safety pin. The said the seamstress will fix it for you if you want this one so I said okay. She did a decent job, its still tattered and then tonight at my final fitting they say '$75'!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? They said they don't even know who makes this slip anymore because it's so old.
UPDATE: I updated ina post, I guess some of you didn't notice. I understand prices of slips but not in this 'condition'. That's what I meant, as a floor sample that's torn. We resolved the issue and I am giving them 40 for it. Thanks girls!!!!

So what do you think about this situation? I don't want to question them and sound like a bridezilla but I think that is a lot to ask for what they are giving me.

I think maybe you should call around or check online to find the same slip ...see what other prices are before you buy it

Re: Is this too much for this slip?
are they taking advantage of you? probably.
but I went through 3 slips trying to find the right one and wasted a lot of time, effort, and money!
so if you end up with the slip that you know looks exactly right with your dress and you don't have to waste time/energy searching........and you don't have to pay shipping, etc, or maybe even more money for what you need........then I think $75 is a good price to pay for that.
I would make one attempt with the salon and say, 'since you originally quoted me $60, I would like you to honor that price with this floor sample silp.'
they'll say yes or no. either way, i wouldn't sweat this detail. you have the slip that works with your dress. I would be

Re: Is this too much for this slip?
They are definitely charging you too much!!! They're giving you a sample that was probably worn by every girl all over creation and they want to charge you the same price as a brand new one?? No way.
At the very least have them honor the $60 price. And you so wouldn't be a bridezilla for it. Good luck!

Re: Is this too much for this slip?
I spoke to the owner. She told me they were confused. She only wanted $40. I said 'Thank you that's more like what I had expected'. They are good to me. They always make up for the headachhe.

didn't they have to order you a brand new dress since they screwed up the first one? Maybe they're trying to make some money back...
