Before you to see any florists do you have to have a swatch of your bridesmaids dresses??? I know iwant diff shades of pink flowers i just don't know what color bridesmaids dresses i want yet i thought that the florists could help me make the decision on what would look nice with the pink flowers ... but ive been told the opposite that i have to have my dress color first... has anyone heard this before?>?

When I met with my florist all they asked was if I had an 'idea of what type of flowers I wanted. They asked when the wedding was (season) that way they could better help me. my florist wrote on the contract the style and type of flowers but that I wan bring the swatch later on when its closer to my wedding. HTH

My florist said I can change my flowers up until about a week or two before my wedding. So, when I get BM dresses I will bring a swatch to figure out what color flowers would look best in their BM bouquets. But I booked in the summer and I still haven't even decided on my bridal party yet. From the knowledge I have it doesn't really matter if you have a swatch or not as long as your florist allows you to change your flowers after you book.

I actually just met with my Florist over the weekend. I totally thought the same thing as you! I thought I neeed to have swatches of the colors I wanted, what kind of flowers I wanted, etc. But my sister told me not to stress out because they're not going to ask you anything about that until the wedding approaches.
She was right. FH and I were out in all of 20 minutes, discussing how many bo-k's I needed, centerpieces, etc. And if you have any ideas of what flowers or colors you want, you tell him. They give you a price estimate right there and if you like them and it's within your price range, you book them!!
