is this weird?

this probably isnt 'off-topic' but i was wondering if this is weird:

i know this girl from a chihuahua meetup we go to...... she has a boyfriend, he has a chihuahua too....
all of a sudden he is sending me emails saying that we can meet up at a dog run together and stuff... he never once mentioned his girlfriend....
now, the reason im asking this is b/c isnt the dog run the singles bar of the new millenium?????
i dont know if i should find this shady or not..
