No actually, I like the best. This way there is no question about how many people are coming. Especially if someone decides not to take a guest.

you address the envelope to MR&MRS NAME.... as long as you dont put and family... it is only the 2 of them... also putting # of guest attending.. is very normal.. every wedding ive been too ive filled this out... HTH!
