so ive posted about this before but now need opinions... the cake that chcc offers is not cup of tea (looks wise). sooo i went and ordered a cake that i loooove from dortoni's (a bakery that chcc works with and gets desserts from). the cake that the chcc offers is included in the 'package' that they offer. but since im not using their cake and had to buy my own they're NOT crediting the bill a single penny and WON'T let us add anything in its place free of charge.
soooooo.... we're paying for a cake that we're not going to use. so instead we were thinking of having the cake served at ch. a different filling and cake than the one for dessert obviously. what do u ladies think???
they won't do anything for us! and when fh called and asked if we could get something else in its place they said 'well we gave u permission to get another cake' geee thankss!!! i hate the idea of spending money on something that we won't use/see/eat, etc.
what would u do???

wait so will they let u have their cake at CH? is that ok? I would just add it to the VH but either way, cant have too much cake IMO sux they wont budge on that one

Well, first I think it just stinks that they will not give you something else like another dessert. So I guess I would make them either put it out at the ch or box it up and donate it to a food bank.

i dont see why they wouldnt let us use it at ch. and with the food bank... theyve went back and forth about whether or not do/will donate to them....
but would a cake at ch be weird? or would people enjoy it u think??

honestly.. do NOT add dessert to the cocktail hour! ppl will eat it and it will ruin their dinner.
tell them u want the cake..and have them wrap it up for you.. just have it and tell your BM THE DAY OF that u want it boxed up to take home
dont tell them in advance.. cuz then they might do something shytty like take away some desserts from your vh . ( i always think the worst with vendors.. especially with my experience with chcc)

as far as donating food. they wont. liability issues.. if osme1 gets sick..they will get sued.
the only place your food will go.. is to THEIR homes when youre done. u make sure leftovers go to YOU. i know i sound grimmmey but u work hard for your $..who are they to tak eanything from u.

lmfao. nooo wayyy would chcc allow that. they're giving me a hard time with the cake for the day of the wedding let alone the rd. plus i got fh a kick asssss grooms cake!

Agree with Barb. Raise this to someone higher. There is no reason they cant give you something else. They are saving money on the cake!!!

my bm is head bm at the chcc and i also spoke to the general manager about it who didn't do jack shiiiitt for us. they make me soo madddddd ughhh.

That really stinks that they wont give you a price break or throw something in to compensate you for the Dortonis cake you are buying. If you already spoke to the GM at your RH and there is absolutely no budging, I would def make them give you your cake thats included. But stupid question though: how can you box up a whole cake and take it home? Just wondering where you would store it (I know I personally have a small fridge and prob wouldnt be able to fit a giant wedding cake in it). Maybe get a diff flavor and have 2 cakes at your reception, that way guests can choose? I wouldnt do cake at CH. Just my opinion...

they would box it up tier by tier not one on top of the other...
we do have a vh, but i guess we'll just add one more cake. i looked at flavors and i think chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse is calling our names!!!!!!!!! the chcc is gonna let us take desserts that are left over home with us. we'll split it between our parents since fh and i will be on our hm the week after the wedding.
