so ive posted about this before but now need opinions... the cake that chcc offers is not cup of tea (looks wise). sooo i went and ordered a cake that i loooove from dortoni's (a bakery that chcc works with and gets desserts from). the cake that the chcc offers is included in the 'package' that they offer. but since im not using their cake and had to buy my own they're NOT crediting the bill a single penny and WON'T let us add anything in its place free of charge.
soooooo.... we're paying for a cake that we're not going to use. so instead we were thinking of having the cake served at ch. a different filling and cake than the one for dessert obviously. what do u ladies think???
they won't do anything for us! and when fh called and asked if we could get something else in its place they said 'well we gave u permission to get another cake' geee thankss!!! i hate the idea of spending money on something that we won't use/see/eat, etc.
what would u do???

That really stinks that they wont give you a price break or throw something in to compensate you for the Dortonis cake you are buying. If you already spoke to the GM at your RH and there is absolutely no budging, I would def make them give you your cake thats included. But stupid question though: how can you box up a whole cake and take it home? Just wondering where you would store it (I know I personally have a small fridge and prob wouldnt be able to fit a giant wedding cake in it). Maybe get a diff flavor and have 2 cakes at your reception, that way guests can choose? I wouldnt do cake at CH. Just my opinion...
they would box it up tier by tier not one on top of the other...
we do have a vh, but i guess we'll just add one more cake. i looked at flavors and i think chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse is calling our names!!!!!!!!! the chcc is gonna let us take desserts that are left over home with us. we'll split it between our parents since fh and i will be on our hm the week after the wedding.
Lmaooo Tier by tier, that makes more sense! Told you it was a stupid question, I was picturing a whole giant wedding cake in an enormous box!!

I'm not using my RH cake either...see if you could get a chocolate fountain or an ice cream sundae bar or whatever to make up for the cake, thats what i did.

lol we complained the first time they told us this, then i spoke to the manager, then my head bm cuz we switched bm's, and fh complained again to our bm. ohh but we're not stopping there. we're pushing, bitchin and complaining again when we go for our final meeting on the 28th. i cant believe im not getting what i want!!!!!! yeah i kno i sound spoiled but u know what? its our wedding day we should be able to get whatever we want especially if its in our damn package from the chcc.
ill definitely update after the meeting

lol keep pushing! You don't sound spoiled at all! Your spending alot of money! They could throw something in! Ice cream or the fountain doesn't even come close to the cost of a cake so dont let them Bullsh*t you! Good luck

EFF THAT! Tell them you want the cake, have them wrap it up and take it home. Have your family and neighbors over for coffee the next day before you leave for your HM. Or invite me over and I'll eat like half of it on my own.
Do they do anything like cupcake cakes? That you could at least have people take home as a second favor. They have to at least bend an inch. LETTING you get another cake isn't really doing you any favors.

Im mad at them too for our cake. All i wanted to do is take off all there flowers and what ever else they were going to put on the cake and just add a navy blue line outlining each layer. They told me that since im changing the layout of the cake it will be 600 to get a new design. My design is using less icing then theres. Im not liking them anymore.
