Re: Is thiscrazy?

what about one of the Vanderbilt mansions? Dowling in Oakdale is 15-20 minuets at the most from your hall.

also the the Bayard Arboretum is not far from there. I think you need a photographer permit though.

Are you taking photos before your ceremony?

Re: Is thiscrazy?

i called lessings and they said they dont allow you to take pics at bourne or vanderbilt if you are not getting married there

yes we are taking pics before ceremony

i heard about bayard but never been there
i think my mom said the entire arboretum is actually covered, so u can still take pics if it rains?

Re: Is thiscrazy?

you have to remember there will be traffic (thats labor day wkdn isnt it?) and the time it takes you to get out of limo and set up, i think you are cutting it to close with sunset.

bayard cutting arboretum is beautiful, and closer to patchogue. Its def not OWG but its still beautiful. Can you go to the Vanderbuilt at Dowling? Its diff than the vanderbuilt by lessings, and as of June 2011 they are not doing weddings anymore. Maybe they will allow you to take pics there

Vanderbilt and Bourne mansion are like 10 minutes from you. Go to one of those.

edit because I read the above post: I thought you could pay a fee at Bourne to take pics there.

how about the arboritum (i know thats spelled wrong haha) - we are reserving the greenhouse in the holtsville ecology ctr if it rains.

my ceremony is at 6 pm. sunset is around 730 in sept
my ceremony will be only 20/30 minutes, so i have plenty of time to take sunset pics

i will plan to be at the hall by 430, so thats not an issue

I guess, I will have to go check out bayard

do they have a building/mansion on the property? or its just gardens?

wait, the vanderbilt at dowling is the lessings property-i am confused! I visited it, its def at dowling

when i google vanderbilt the only other one that comes up is in New Hyde Park
??
