So my Aunt is throwing a shower for me on Long Island and I'm expecting all NYC friends to go....my MOH suggested that she would throw me a 2nd shower (lingerie only) for all our NYC friends at her apartment too. Isn't it a lot to expect people to come to both showers and give me two gifts?
Its hard to say no to her offer to host but do you think girls invited to both might think its a little much to give me? I feel bad....
Note: MOH also getting married and is having her 'real' shower in VA and I'm throwing her one in NYC for people that can't make it to VA so maybe she thinks she should reciprocate....

hmm i dunno. i think if you are going to have 2 showers it would be with different people. I would kinda think it was a lot of i had to go to both.

i think people who have 2 showers don't usually invite the same set of people to both, so having 2 for the same set of friends might be a little much

If you were going to have two...I'd try to invite different people to each one. its alot to ask people to buy 2 gifts.

or you could invite the same people, but ask them not to give gifts at the 2nd shower (it'll be more of a get-together)

I think it's a lot to ask if the same people are going to both. Maybe she can host the bachelorette party and make lingerie the themed gift?

I agree, thats why I'm asking...and I don't want her to feel bad that I say no thanks, but at the same time, my aunt has a minimum number of people she promised at shower on LI so I can't really split up the people!
Maybe I'll suggest the lingerie thing for my bachelorette party....

I had two showers, it's not too much. It happens!
ETA: There were different guests at each shower. They were each hosted at a friend's home.

I had two showers but it was with two different groups of people. Hmmm... Idk the second shower sounds awesome cuz its lingerie only but for ppl to go to two shower and buy gifts for both of em might be much. But if I were invited to two showers like that I think itd b awesome and wouldn't mind going or buying the gifts, just my opinion tho....

I wouldn't worry about it - if they want to throw it for you, then let them - the duplicate guests will either just get you a $7 thong from Victoria's Secret or just come for the booze!
