Is your DH/FH handy around the house?

My DH isn't the handiest...he grew up in the city with a landlord who fixed everything and I grew up on L.I. with my Daddy who fixed everything, so I know a lot of stuff about fixing things around the house. I have to admit that it frustrates me sometimes that I know more about the house and how things work around it than he does! I feel like the super sometimes...

He's VERY handy.. he does demo work, electrical, carpentry.. you name it, he does it.. he's my little construction worker..

after and during our work on the house...YES

Since we bought the house - he has learned so much but prior to that he was not really at all. We are both learning a lot!

not really unfortunately. sometimes he tries, but he usually tries to avoid it.

problem is, i'm sort of demanding when it comes to getting stuff done around the house. i'm highly motivated, he's not.

Hubby is pretty handy. Whateve he cant do, we have our neighbor who is a carpenter
He helped build our deck

I would say he is pretty handy.

I'm very fortunate-mine can fix almost anything.

DH is completely NOT handy. I asked him the other day to get me a Phillips head screwdriver and he had no idea what I wanted.

The only plus is that when I do small things like hang a curtain rod, he's really impressed.

There isn't anything he can't do, and it's a good thing because it saves us TONS of $$$.

I don't think I could have married a man that wasn't handy! That was one of the things that attracted me to him (I was looking for someone like my dad. )

Same here. He gives everything his best shot, and gets help when he needs it, and learns from the help and gets better on his own the next time!

DH is very handy. Sometime it amazes me with all the work he's put into the house, from electrical things, to recessd lighting, to crown moldings, to building the walls with arches, to fixing the heater to all the plumbing work! I wouldn't have it any other way. Oh, and he's great with cars too

OH YES! My FI can do anything, from tile to build decks to crown moulding. He is amazing. He builds custom furniture.

YES!!! Thank God! He and his father can do anything!

Yes so handy! He is an electrician but knows a lot about everything. We rent from my mom in a house she owns so he fixes everything for her and he grew up in a house his whole life which helps a lot cause I know nothing. I know when we have our own, its going to save us so much money!

oh god no!!!!!! the only thing that saves us right now is that we live in a condo and the work is minimal.
