Is your DH/FH handy around the house?

My DH isn't the handiest...he grew up in the city with a landlord who fixed everything and I grew up on L.I. with my Daddy who fixed everything, so I know a lot of stuff about fixing things around the house. I have to admit that it frustrates me sometimes that I know more about the house and how things work around it than he does! I feel like the super sometimes...

my DH is a master carpenter by trade, he has been building stuff for 20 years. His knowledge & ability covers every area, architecture, electric, pluming, heating, roofing, moulding-he has built several new custom homes.
BUT its not always easy to get him to do stuff at home especially little stuff because he does it all week long.
Luckily I have learned from running our business how to do most stuff myself(I spent the first two years actually working on the jobsites so I even have all the tools)
We always say we'll have our own home improvement show someday.

I don't think I could have married a man that wasn't handy! That was one of the things that attracted me to him (I was looking for someone like my dad. )

Absolutely, everything from wiring our house addition to building and finishing the stone wall on the outside of our house to creating a copper and steel table he welded that now houses our stereo system.
He is amazing!!! Since I moved in with him, I never thought I would make that many trips to Home Depot and Lowes

He says he is... but luckily he hasn't had to whip his skills out too much yet...

although he did build his house in AZ and we went to his family's house in Mexico (run on solar power) and a hurricane had destroyed so much...and he got it all up and running again...

My DH is awesome around the house. Unfortunately, he's so good that he's always doing things for friends, and even has people at work begging him to do things in their homes. He's always so busy doing things, that it can take away from the time he puts in on our own house, or even time we spend together.

Having a handy husband is great in some ways, but in other ways, it can be a curse, too!

uh - no! I wish! Watching us hang a picture is pretty amusing! We've both lived in doorman buildings in NYC since we left home. They don't even let you carry your own groceries!

I'm hoping that once we get into the new house we can learn together.
