Is your FMIL

Is your FMIL

having her make up & hair done by your vendors? Mine 'decided' that she would use my hair & make up vendor. Now in general that doesn't bother me but I mentioned it to a friend that recently got married and she was horrified that FMIL would make that request. She stated that she didn't want anyone but her BM / MOH / Mother & Father to see her b/f she walked down the aisle. Do you feel the same way or is this no big deal & my friend is being over dramatic?

Thanks

I don't think its a big deal, but I guess it depends on how you feel about it and your relationship with you mother in law

i'm not offering that to my FMIL ... if she wants to get her hair and makeup done, she can go somewhere else.

but if you don't mind seeing her before your ceremony, then it really doesn't matter

Yes, but that's bc we use the same hair dresser and the more ppl I have use my make-up lady the cheaper it is for me.

I love my FMIL and took her with me and my mom for my hair trial. FMIL told me she would like to use the same woman and I am actually ecstatic b/c now I dont have to worry and I know that my girl will do a fantastic job.

I really don't think its a big deal when she sees u. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it.

FMIL has a habit of trying to be involved in EVERYTHING and doesn't really believe in 'lines'. She also likes to tell her son EVERYTHING so when she asked to use my make up person and come to the house the day of the wedding I had to tell her (a couple of times) that she couldn't come. She tired EVERYTHING to get to the house (BTW she doesn't drive far) and even got FSIL involved (she's my MOH) but I just kept telling her no. My mom was starting to get annoyed, especially since it was the time before the wedding that my mom would have with just me that day before FH was with me, which means a lot to my mom. I know she was upset but I just went on here and looked for other make up people and gave her a spreadsheet to look through. you can try to do that as well.

I think your friend is overreacting. My FMIL is having her hair done by my stylist and I have no problem with it at all.

Mine did not but I really wish she had...she could have used a bit of assistance with her makeup.

I dont think its a big deal - I think its nice that she wants to spend time with her and be a part of everything!

Not a big deal. My FMIL is getting her hair done by my girl and her makeup done at my house with me and my girls. But I also ADORE my FMIL and she only has 3 sons so she'll never be the 'MOB.' I want her to be as involved in my part of the wedding as she wants to be! She's even coming to my bachelorette party!

I dont think its a big deal. Everyones getting ready with me (BM's and both moms) ... and everyone is using the girls I hired.

I offered it to my FMIL to be nice as all the BMs, my Mom and my Aunt are all getting our hair and makeup done together. FSIL - who is also a BM - is coming, so I figured FMIL wouldnt want to feel left out. Well, she decided she didn't want to come with us. Which, to be honest, makes me perfectly happy

Personally, I think it depends on the relationship that you have with her. My MIL is a crazy biatch and I don't even let her in my house, so it would be a big no for me. But I know a lot of ladies have great relationships with their FMIL, so I don't think it would be a big deal there.

I don't think its a big deal at all

I made the offer to my MIL, but she didn't want to have her hair/makeup done, so no big deal

I think thats a strange reaction from your friend--its definitely not unheard of....my mom and FMIL are both getting hair and makeup done with me at hotel!

It's not a huge deal, but I didn't want to see DH's family before the ceremony either. But that's just me.

I also didn't want her to have any say in my hair or makeup; she's that type of person.
