Is your mom getting a different outfit (a suit etc) for the church?
And then changing into a gown for the reception? Or is she wearing her gown the entire day?
Edited to add: Please tell me why she chose to do it that way. What are the reasons to do the suit thing first versus not doing it?

My mom wore the gown the entire day. First reason, she payed good money for it. Second, pictures. We started taking pictures in the house before church, so she had to have her gown on!! Finally, she wouldn't have had it any other way. She waited a long time to wear that gown at her daughters (me) wedding!!

Ever since my mother saw Diane Keaton in 'Father of the Bride' wear a suit-type outfit, she has said that thats what she wants. She plans on wearing the suit to the church and changing into a gown for the reception. Also...she will be walking me down the isle since my dad passed away two years ago:-

My mom is in great shape so for the reception she will probably be wearing something revealing or sexy or just too flashy for church. So she'll probably wear a toned down outfit or gown for the church and daytime photos and then diva it up for the reception. This is what I usually do when I attend weddings also. Often times reception wear is not appropriate church wear.
