Is your reception site yours for the day???

I am worried about my possible reception site. They usually have an afternoon wedding 11AM-5PM. I am having a evening celebration which starts at 6:30PM-12:30AM. Is 2 hours in between the two enough for the other people to break down and for us to set up our flowers and take pictures? I feel like that makes time really tight and if anyone is just a couple minutes late it could through off the whole event.

Anyone working with a simlilat timeframe?

I would not worry. These places know what they are doing! They would not schedule it that way if it wasn;t going to work out.

I totally agree with Sunny...you should not worry. They do this ALL the time...they know exactly what they're doing.

Re: Is your reception site yours for the day???

I wish I had booked it for the day...but I can't change the past...

My reception ended at 6 and the next cocktail started at 7....we stayed until about 6:30 or so saying goodbye to guests (my parents probably later)...and the hall worked around us taking down the tables and setting up...we did see a few guests from the next wedding come and they were directed to the cocktail area...

I'm not really sure if the B&G were going to take pictures there...if they were...that would have been the only issue...so I think 2 hours would be plenty of time

Re: Is your reception site yours for the day???

Yes our room is ours for the day! But I agree that these are professionals and even if there is another event booked in the same room on the same day, they should be able to work it out for you.

we do have to share the picture taking section though and depending if another bride is there at the same time, my party may have to wait. But we planned on taking pics elsewhere so if we can't do it there its no biggie

Re: Is your reception site yours for the day???

im sure its enough time. the turn around is so fast and efficient. i wouldnt worry. im sure they have perfected this. we did book out our reception site for the whole day and night so that we could take pictures there and relax and not be rushed. it actually worked out to be cheaper than to only book the night because it was a holiday weekend

Ours for the evening only not whole day

Our reception site was ours for the evening only, not for the whole day. There was an afternoon wedding when we arrived for our cocktail hour. Our reception site is a resturant and a caterer, our wedding was separated from the restaurant. It was great to have our private party.

Re: Ours for the evening only not whole day

I was just married at Larkfield Manor and I was assured that there would be enough time and I am so very glad I did not listen to them. Our ceremony was at 6:30 and Frank, the Banquet Manager, actually told me to tell my guests to arrive at 6pm. Well, needless to say, the straglers and remnents of the earlier wedding were still there and thank God I was not depending on them to take pictures there. We booked the Vanderbilt Museum to take pictures with the bridal party and it was beautiful there. Do what you feel in your gut. If you are worried, make alternative plans. I'm glad I did.

Re: Ours for the evening only not whole day

I looking at the Carltun and they usually have an afternoon wedding from 11-5PM. We would start at 6:30 PM. The thing is by the time their party takes doen their flowers and music equipment it will probabaly be 6:00PM. that scares me, especially because I am palnning on taking all my pictures there and I will not be having a rehearsal dinner. I am sure that they no what they are doing but it still makes me nervous.

Re: Ours for the evening only not whole day

Yes, the entire site is ours for the entire day. It is very important to me to have it to ourselves. But I think a good catering location can make it SEEM as though you are the only one there. JMO.
