Re: Is your reception Smoking or Non-Smoking?

I didn't even think to ask my hall - just assumed it was smoke-free. But I will ask if people can smoke in the cocktail room AFTER cocktail hour. I am a smoker, and I too cannot stand when people smoke while Im eating. But I personally do not want to go outside to have a cigarette at my own wedding...I definitely want the reception area to be smoke free though.

Re: Is your reception Smoking or Non-Smoking?

I think it's ok if you can smoke in a separate room - especially in the winter - smokers are humans too!

I would just hate the smell of the place if there wasn't any circulation.

My wedding will be smoking.Ive seen a non- smoking wedding with my girl friend and will tell you HALF of the people were outside smoking and many people stayed outside because they were smokers. They couldnt enjoy themselves,i feel it wasnt fair to the people or the bride.

Re: Is your reception Smoking or Non-Smoking?

Im going to have a non smoking reception, like it's been said before, if people want to smoke, they can smoke outside. I hate smoke around me, especially when I'm eating. I dont want to have the smell of smoke on my dress

Re: Is your reception Smoking or Non-Smoking?

What about the fact that the smokers are literally killing my other guests? Sorry smokers are human too, I know many of my family members smoke and I love them but when you hear the most important person in your entire life beg God to take her life because of the pain of lung cancer the whole 'let them enjoy themselves' line goes out the door forever.
Also, the people in my family that do smoke will NOT spend the entire wedding outside since they know that would hurt me greatly and I would just walk out there and tell them to get their a__ back inside! Everyone knows how I feel about this and how much pain smoking has caused me. It is because of a cigarette that my Nanny has to watch my wedding from heaven.

Re: Is your reception Smoking or Non-Smoking?

Mine is going to be non-smoking. Grandma has emphasema (sp?) and is on oxygen so it is a no brainer for us. People can go outside to smoke if they want.

Re: Is your reception Smoking or Non-Smoking?

No smoking. Me and FH both smoke, so I'm sure I'll be sneaking somewhere. But I just figured out of respect for the non-smokers, no smoking would be best. Even I can't enjoy a meal when I'm surrounded by smoke

Re: Is your reception Smoking or Non-Smoking?

I'm assuming it's allowed at our location since they do a cigar bar. We have plenty of rooms to use, so I'm sure one of them will be designated smoking. They'll also be tables setup outside, so they can go there as well, assuming it's not raining.

The ballroom (dinner reception) will be non-smoking.
