They are trying to make mine a surprise--but I hate them and I really need to know--cause we have so many graduations, confirmations and other bridal showers, I think my mom knows I need to be consulted on the date. I will let the location be a surprise

i split the difference. lol. i want to help plan all the details but i wont know the date and time. since i want a very simple party at my FMIL's it can still be a surprise. lol.

mine is a surprise, but i can figure it out, I know my Mom really well, but I will moving to CT in 2 Weeks so I will not be home and it will be hard for FH to be like lets to LI on a random weekedn haha and hes not good at ling about it. but iw ill act surprised for my mom's sake

mine will be 400 miles away, so I obviously will know. I'm assuming it's mostly a downstate thing to be surprised.

I hope so. But I also made it VERY clear to my MOH that she is in tons of trouble if I show up in a scrubby outfit! She has to find a way to make sure I dress up a bit, so I hope she doesn't give it away! LOL

alot of times the MOH or the mom bring an outfit for you just in case this happens...i went to a shower this past summer and the bride showed up in shorts, tshirt and flip flops but her sister brought a couple of dresses for her and she just changed...my MOH said she will do the same

I really want it a certain way, but my Mom is throwing it and she's very traditional and we're not. I told her what I wanted and she didn't like it.

Sounds like my mom. My father's family is 100% Italian and my mom does everything to make them happy. She's not even Italian; she's Native American and Spanish. I just don't get it.

I got tired of fighting her though. I just nod and smile for most things.

My shower will not be a surprise. I live out of town and my mom got nervous about how to get me to LI so we just decided that it won't be a surprise. I n't have a problem with that at all might be nice.
I know the date and where it is, but other than that I won't be that invoved with the planning...

i really HATE surprises i have since i was a little girl so i told my bridal party and mother that allthough i dont way a 'surprise' all i really want to know is When and where.. other then that surpise me ALL THE WAY!!!!
