Does anyone else feel that wearing a veil is suffocating? I just feel like i'd be getting attacked! Especially since i'm having a beach wedding! God forbid it's windy that day!
I just really don't think i want to wear a veil. I'm not a veil kind of girl and my wedding is somewhat non-traditional. But i think that would put the nail in my coffin if i didn't wear a veil. My FMIL & FSIL would have a heart attack (as if i haven't given them a few already with not going down the traditional route).
Is anyone else not wearing a veil?

I am NOT wearinga veil...it's not my thing...i think i'd feel suffocated.....i don't like my fingernails painted because i feel 'trapped' in them. I am not claustrophobic though...i just don't like the feeling i get.
i've heard tons of lip....all on the FIL side though. my mom is very supportive of my ideas and has never said i should wear anything...she just supports my decisions....i love it!!
Well that's nice of your mom! See i think if i didn't wear a veil, my FSIL & FMIL would freak out. I love them to death and we get along really well. But lets just say that when we decided to have a beach wedding, his mother cried because it wasn't in a church. And my FMIL would like me to wear her daughters veil & tiara. Forget about the fact that it doesn't go with my dress! My FMIL & FSIL are very opinionated and they let you know it. You would think that because my FSIL had the big church wedding, that ours wouldn't matter as much. OH NO! It does apparently! And i guess they expect me to be them sometimes and share their opinions (which half of the time i do, but not this wedding stuff). It's a good thing that i'm good at putting my foot down!

I HATE having things in my face (I'm always in ponytails b/c even my own hair in my face pisses me off), so for my wedding I'm just wearing a veil for 'decorative' purposes (i.e. just a single layer in he back for that bride-y look, but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in my face.)
i am doing the same. i am not one to have something in my face either

Good for you for putting your foot down. Its your day and you should be able to do what you want. Especially when it is something you will be wearing and having to deal with the entire time. Have you tried to let them know how uncomfortable you are when having something in your face? It is not like you don't want it just to be difficult or cause your not traditional.
