Island Harvest

Island Harvest

Is anyone familiar with how this works. I would like to donate any left over food from my reception. I had read about this one time, and I think it is a beautiful idea.

Food at wedding receptions seem like such overkill and I would be really happy if I could help out someone less fortunate.

I think it is awesome as well. Here is the website and all you need to do is call and set it up for your day. They will come and package everything up and bring it wherever it is needed at the end of the night!! I also def want to do this. I am donating my center pieces to a children's hospital as well!! GL :)

Re: Island Harvest

I spoke to Felicia about this when we booked. They automatically donate food to at least 2 different food banks and i believe one is Island Harvest. I know they don't send the cocktail hour food b/c there is too much of a time delay (it sits out for too long) and they don't want anyone to get sick. They pick up after each party i believe. If you don't want to take your extra meals home you can donate them too. You don't even have to do anything at Westbury Manor. Just ask them next time you speak to them but they take care of everything. Another reason to love WM!
