Isn't this kind of rude??

Original post by JimmysBride

I was just talking to this woman I work with that I barely know...actually, I just met her a couple of days ago. I've told people (when I didn't want them to try it on) 'I thought it was bad luck to let anyone else put on your engagement ring'.

True or not, it gets me off the hook and doesn't sound as rude as them. Just makes me sound superstitious. And aren't most brides-to-be at least a little bit?

My sister tries mine on every now and then and my best friend, but it's only because I'm the first out of all us girls to get engaged. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but had a stranger asked me to take it off my hand, let alone have them try it on, I would tell them it's bad luck.
