Is/was anyone else nervous when they were buying a house?

I know we can afford it and we will be fine but I am still soo nervous.

What about anyone else?

I am nervous too even though I know we can afford it even if one of us lost our jobs.

I think its natural being that when will you ever buy something like this ya know

My Mom said she lost 15lbs when they went to closing on the house they are in now because she was so afraid if they would be able to afford it....and now they are 100% ok

I was very nervous but it's like a sigh of relief after the closing... it's yours and it feels great!

We won't be buying until this fall but we bid on a house we loved. Just going through that made me sick to my stomach I was so nervous.

We will be in our 1st home 5 years in June and I am always nervous

We were sooooo nervous too! You get used to making the payments after a few months.

It is so nerve racking. When else in your life are you going to make a 200k+ (using this number at random) decision. That is scary to put yourself in that much debt! I LOVE our house, but there will always be days that I second guess myself because that is me. It is totally normal and it WILL BE ok!!!

Very nervous! You are so not alone. We had to wait 6 months from contract to closing and the whole time I'd go through bouts of 'OMG, there is NO WAY!!!!' (didn't help that I was layed off soon after going to contract- I didn't mention it to anyone though .) I would make myself sick over it and was so nervous when we closed. I'm still a little nervous in fact, even though we've been in for 3 months.

I was miserable, constantly worried about money, talking about it, saving every penny, worrying, complaining, etc. I did not sleep or eat for a week before the closing, I was physically sick and nauseous. It was horrible. Literally, within an hour after we closed, I was so happy and excited and felt perfect - everything just lifted off me and I knew it would all be OK. And after 2 weeks...it's still OK and I love it!

OMG! Of course I was! Buying a house is a big and major step and purchase. Who wouldn't be nervous??

Absolutely. Whether you can afford it or not it is a big commitment.

But we are also excited to take the plunge once we find the right place.

We were both nervous too as we were buying our house (me more than my FH). In fact i was soooo nervous on the way to the closing that i wasn't able to talk (which is not like me). When we closed, i immediately felt much better. You will see, the feeling will go away once you get the keys. Everyone kept aying how stressful buying a house is, and they were right BUT, hearing our attorney say to us, 'You now own the house' was almost as good as when i heard 'will you marry me?' It's all worth it!!!!

I wasn't that nervous when we bought our condo but now looking for a house...I AM FREAKING OUT and i am just LOOKING so far!
