It is all happening too fast...
I am sure this is all normal, but of course I have worries. I started 6 months this week, and I am just feeling so weird. My morning sickness seems to be back for one - and my appetite seems less and less at dinner time. I am not throwing up in the morning, just totally queasy. My legs from my knees to my toes didn't even look like my own by the end of the day yesterday. I looked like whatshisname in Misery when she breaks his ankles. They were huge and all deformed looking. I laid down early with my feet propped up and by this morning, they were better, but I can feel the tingling starting already. I am not on my feet all day at work so I don't know why this is happening? Also - these contraction thingies seems to be happening kind of a lot. At night in particular. I get like 4 of them I think - where the belly gets really really hard and then subsides. There is no pain, but it's SO heavy! The only thing that seems to relieve it is kind of lifting up my belly. If that makes sense….
I am sorry to vent like this. It just seems like all of a sudden I am experiencing a lot of new discomforts. And I know it's half of what other ladies on here experience, between the GD and the sciatica pains and all that stuff. The good news is the baby moves tons so I am not worried about that end of things. I am more worried about mommy right now!

Re: It is all happening too fast...
Jenny- Vent away... I understand how the changes in your body are just mind-blowing. Really I do.Morning Sickness should just be called 'all day sickness' because many women get it at non-morning times and at various times in their pregnancy. It is very normal because hormone production increases and changes at various stages of the pregnancy.
I had some horrible foot pains and mentioned it to the chiropractor. She said (of course) that I have planter fascilitis and it is a softening of the ligaments in your arch area due to (of course) hormones. But I got good arch supports and I feel difference when I wear them in my sneakers.
I recommend you get yourself a pair of arch supports- they were $10 in CVS. I also find that a good pedicure cures a lot of ailments
Here is some info that I found that might help you a bit:
The extra weight of pregnancy can lead to heel pain or planter fasciitis. Arch supports can help avoid this problem.
Tips for treating swollen feet include:
Elevate the feet as often as possible.
Wear seamless socks that do not constrict circulation.
When driving for a long period, take regular breaks to stretch the legs and promote circulation.
Check with a doctor about an exercise program; walking is usually recommended.
Eat a well-balanced diet and avoid foods high in salt that can cause fluid retention.
If any pain persists, see a doctor.

Re: It is all happening too fast...
Jenny .... Welcome to the swollen foot & ankle club!
I've been doing ok in this dept up to this point & now its about every day that they look like elephants! My dr says that your ever growing belly is acting like a plug these days & circulation is an issue. Fluid just builds up with no where to go. Make sure that you're drinking as much water as possible ... baby needs tons!!
Your Braxton Hicks are normal ... just uncomfortable. I know exactly how you feel. I bought a belly belt at Motherhood & when it gets bad, I use it. It does take some of the stress off your back. I've also added new pillow about every month now for the last 3 months! I'm up to like 4! I've got the snoogle, an extra under my head, an extra under my back, and now one under my belly. Im a sight at night. It takes me 20 minutes to get situated in bed b/f I fall asleep! My DH has about 2 inches of room to sleep, but oh, well!
Feel better & vent when you need to. Even if its normal, its a lot to deal with, so don't feel bad!

Jenny
You poor sweetie! I totally understand. Just remember to try to promote your circulation during the day at work - standing for long periods is not good - but neither is sitting! Get up and walk around every 20-30 minutes...it is very important!Hang in there...and vent away if it helps! You've got ALOT of sympathetic ears here!!!

Re: It is all happening too fast...
For a bad back and hurty legs I have a 'maternity belt' and it does take some of the pressure off my back. I got the first one at Motherhood for $15.00 and now I got a more super duper version at BRU for $30 and I do feel better when I wear it.

AWE, Jenny! Youre a little trooper, Im sure you'll get through this pregnancy like a champ!
I remember that tightening feeling. It does feel heavy and like you need help relieving that pressure. Try not to do to much physical stuff (lifting/moving stuff), can you take a water aerobics class (Where do you live? I know 2 in suffolk - fm me if ya like). I took it when I was preggo with JA and it felt GREAT to just be in water and 'let yourself go' and you are 'weightless' (wishful thinking
) but that really helps too. Or even if not a class, just hanging out in an indoor pool to relax. I plan to go in a few mnths. maybe sooner.
I had the swelling in my feet/lower legs also. No fun
Just try to keep your feet elevated at least an hour a day. I know, that was HARD for me to do too, I cant sit still, but i found it helped sometimes...Youre doing great mommy. Vent to us anytime!
When Im venting about this, you'll be home with a baby in your arms !!!
