It is so beautiful outside and I'm stuck at work!!!

Anyone else out there working today??? I wish I could be outside, but I have to make some$$ to finish paying for this wedding

im working too! it really does suck! i work in the reservations dept. of a restaurant and no one is even calling to make reservations!

i live in Chicago, I work at LeColonial...we do have one in New York, its 149 E 57th.
its a french vietnamese restaurant :)

no im not from LI at all! I started wedding planning last summer and I could not find a wedding forum for the life of me. The ones I found had like 20 members and were barely used. Then I found LIW and figured better to have a support group in LI then not at all :)

My wedding will be in the suburbs of chicago ...

I do have a good friend who lives in LI who may be getting engaged soon....i have been telling her about the site for a while, so I am sure she will join soon!

That's awesome! How did you find us? It's good that you have a support group. The knot also has chat groups in your area if you need help finding vendors and such.

I found it after lots of searching and googling! The knot is helpful for finding wedding stuff in my area! it just ***** that I can't actually participate in anything b/c im too far away!

With the day I am having, I would probably be better off at work or at least asleep. I am having a terrible day. FH is at work and said he will take of things when I get home, but stay out of the kitchen. I went to get cereal and dropped the box all over the kitchen floor. My dog wouldn't even eat it! Then I decided I would start the wash with the portable machine and while doing it, I knocked the fry daddy over and split the oil all over the kitchen floor, on top of the cereal and dropped the new bread into the mess and then the broom!!! It is a disaster. To make matters worse, I have a bad back and can't get down long enough to clean it. This is what my FH has waiting for him after working all weekend!

I am getting married in Rolling Meadows which is a NW suburb of Chicago. Im Russian and Jewish, so the wedding is at a Russian RH. It is fairly big with about 320 people invited...though I hope only 250 come due to space!

My main color is fuscia! I will be draping all of the walls of the RH in white fabric and they will be putting fuscia lighting onto the fabric, making it look like a fuscia ballroom (at least that is the goal). I will probably do whites or silvers for everything else. Its getting so close, I can't believe it!!

I would like to get to Chicago one day. My business is having their conference their in July, but I can't make it. My FH and I wanted to get their for the baseball games. Your wedding sounds amazing. I work with 3 people that are Russian and Jewish. They all speak fluent Russian.

Whoa! Sounds like something out of Platinum Weddings! I'm sure it will be beautiful! Can't wait to see pics! Are you getting excited?

Yep I speak fluent Russian too! Maybe you will be able to come another time, Chicago is a fun place :)
