It poured for me!
I'm a little late with this, but as I suspected, it poured for me on Sunday! My mother threw me a champagne brunch at Carosello. My sister and my bridesmaids did such a nice job with everything. I was running a little late (about 15 minutes) getting there, but that's no surprise. ![]()
I think I surprised them more that I knew because I was so good at not letting on to anyone that I did know...I didn't want to make anyone feel bad and ruin it for them. I was more nervous about that because I knew I was going to have trouble putting on a big act. I was still a little stunned, I guess more overwhelmed after I walked in. There weren't a lot of people, but I was nervous about all of the attention. One of my oldest friends ended up making me cry when she said hello and hugged me!
I pretty much got most of what I needed off of my registry. A few bigger things I wasn't expecting anyway, and had planned to get myself afterwards with the discount. One of those things though that I did get was this expensive wall clock that was special to me. When I looked at it in Fortunoff it has a demo that you can hear the music. My father and uncle where both big Frank Sinatra fans and one of their favorite songs was 'My Way'. When I hit the button, what do you think it played? Yes, 'My Way'. I burst into tears in the middle of Fortunoff and knew I wanted to go back for it. That may sound silly to some, but it meant something to me. I had told my cousin/MOH (whose father loved him also) what happened and she felt it was a sign too. Well, anyway, her, my other cousin, aunt and her MIL went in together and got it for me...so that was really nice! That night, my FH put it up and what do you think the first song that played was? Yes, I’m not kidding, “My Way”!![]()
My mother did such a nice job with all the little things too. I knew she was paying for the shower, so I told her I didn't want her to spend a lot of money on a lot of things like the wishing well, chair and such but she still added little things in place of it that were just as nice. I also told her awhile back, even though it is kind of traditional, not to spend a lot of money on a bridal doll. My sister sews really well and made me a bridal dress replica. It came out beautiful!! Hopefully someone took a picture for me...as soon as I have it I will post it. She had actually posted a few months back on BHB (dressmaker) and I didn't even realize it, in case anyone is interested in one.
