IT POURED!!! ***UPDATED WITH PICS***

today was my shower. I was very surprised by where it was, i was so happy bc i wanted something modern and thought about this place bc of their decor but i didnt give suggestions because i stayed out of it, it was at Island in astoria. Everybody did such a great job, for the favors they did this whole gift set with eyeshadows, blush, 2 nail polishes, lipsticks, other make up, tweezers and i forgot what else plus on all the tables there were packets of drink mix that said a perfect blend and also Denises bridal shower with the date, i think they were cosmopolitan drink mix packets. The food was very good, and had a great time but it goes by so fast. Everybody kept coming up to me to say what a great job my moh did and how organized she was lol, all the girls were so great and it was like an assembly line when i opened up gifts, we actually did the gifts pretty quick. Everybody kept asking when i was going to open gifts bc it was going to take a long time but i finished and still had time left and we didnt start right away. Had such an amazing day. Our Fg which is in red in the pics was the cutest thing she kept throwing petals everywhere bc shes been practicing alot at home and wanted to show me, and then she was posing for me for pictures. Also FMIL got us a flat screen tv so that was awesome and so generous. I have to say my mom and MOH did a great job of picking a place, it definitely was the type of place i wanted and its funny bc i had posted on LIW before suggesting this place for a shower and said i would LOVE to have it here and it was too bad i couldnt pick the place

Oooh and the place i guess forgot to write on the cake hahaha but oh well i didnt even care what can you do. The funniest is the pic of me with the knife, my grandmother looks terrified LOL

Congrats Denise! Looks like you had an amazing shower, and from what you've said, one that was perfect for you. I also would have never thought to throw a shower at Island (I've been there quite often and am actually having my b-day there this coming Saturday night), but it definitely is a beautiful space, very airy and chill... whoever picked it made a great choice. Oh and of course, you looked beautiful! Congrats again!!

have fun this weekend celebrating your birthday...yeah its funny bc i went with my moh and another bm to island in december , like 2 days before NYE and my moh had never been to island(or at least i thought) and it was a friday night so its not as packed and only downstairs was open...well i told her that the upstairs is nice and asked the bouncer if we can just go upstairs and look, she told me yesterday that when i did that in december she was so worried i knew and kept wondering why i was showing her how the upstairs looked like bc she had booked in oct already for my shower. But she had to pretend she never has seen it lol...i had no clue i just wanted her the see the upstairs and show her how nice it was

Even though I had a bad experience at Island, you cant deny the place is GORGEOUS. You look like you such a great time and you looked gorgeous! Congrats! I wish I could relive my shower!!! It does go by way too fast!

i know i remember your experience there sorry but thank you so much. I know i was so sad when it was over, i felt i didnt talk to enough people or more like didnt talk as much as i shouldve with certain people and other things too. Plus out of the 4 hours, i missed an hour of it since it was a surprise andhad to show up later

Thank you so much...i hope somebody has pics of me with so much gum in my mouth playing the 'how well do you know FH' game. I did pretty well though hahaha but some of his answers were histerical. I was drooling at one point with all the gum in my mouth since they were bubbalicious lol

yeah its right by kaufmann studios, actually same block as that place cup. On the weekends its a club/lounge and in the daytime its a restaurant

Aww how cute of her! That's really funny... I'm sure she was freaking out on the inside. She probably thought you were playing a cruel joke on her by showing her around the place you were having your shower! That's great that she picked such a perfecct place for you!
