IT POURED YESTERDAY!!!!
My day was absolutly amazing but started with a mini-panic attack
Since I am a control freak, I was allowed to be a minimally involved in the shower. ( I knew the time and date, and theme)
A week before, I arranged for my wedding day hair and makeup team to do a trial that day so that I can actually go somewhere with the look i'll have on the wedding day--but semi toned down.
So by 9 am I was all dolled up.
Actually, I ended up having an updo at the shower and shimmery make-up and I will be wearing my hair down for the wedding.
Anyway, my panic attack began when I was driving home from the salon and i call home and all the men are still sleeping and there was alot to pack up to bring to the restaurant. Needless to say, I put my foot down and by the time I got home, everybody was up and the cars were packed and ready to go.
Atlantic Grill restaurant, Brooklyn NY A+++
The food was amazing as usual, we have eaten there many times for several events. The place fits maybe 120 people and it is perfect for a shower. We had 62 people and tables of 10, 12 and one of 8
Dreyshner's Flowers A+++
Tanya provided the most beautiful French tulips in gorgeous vases. Each table had one taller and one shorter vase, with crystals and green glass in them.
Bridesmaids and Mom - A+++++++++++++
My MOH who has never been to a bridal shower before did such an amazing job that literally EVERYBODY came up to her and told her she needs to go into the entertainment business or be a lawyer because she is so outspoken and when people were too loud, she told them to be quiet in a funny way. (i.e, we were playing the 'how well do you know your husband game' and I had a mouthful of gum [my lovely idiot fiance provided the most ridiculous answers] ...and my FMIL was trying to shout out hints and Julie, my MOH goes 'marina you better stop that or ill put gum in your mouth'....and SHE DID!!! it was beyond funny!
...and to add: my MOH woke up that morning with a terrible eye infection and suffered the entire day and left after presents but still came through and i just love her so much!
All of my bridesmaids were all involved and amazing as well..im so blessed i cant even begin to explain it.
My mother was the financial backing behind this thing and I was so proud of her for the favors, the place, the coordination, and most of all her speech. Not a dry seat in the house!
We got amazing gifts and I am now the proud owner of the entire Villeroy and Boch New Wave collection--from A to Z. and I got everything that I really wanted..including the wine fridge and all the Michael Aram and Vera Wang stuff..and even some Tiffany surprises =)
It was such a great day and the weather was gorgeous. I couldnt have asked for more
