It's not that I HATE Valentine's Day, but....

I just think it's stupid. Ok, not stupid, but I love JT every single day of the year, why do we have to spend money and buy gifts TODAY, rather than let's say, June 12th? I mean, it's a cute holiday for the kids, it's a sad holiday for those who do not have a significant other, it's a fun holiday for those maybe going on a date with someone they think may end up being special, but to me, who's already getting married, who has someone who gives me more love than I can ask for everyday already, it just seems like every other day. Ok, that's my rant.

I understand what you are saying - it's a fun holiday when you have someone - but it really makes people feel bad when you don't. I was just thinking that I have an old (ex) friend whose birthday is today and she is always MISERABLE on her bday because she doen'tshave anyone! We are all lucky to have found love and it just feels like this is a day that it gets shoved in other people's faces sometimes. It also is a day (IMO) that is too stressful in terms of what do I get him???

very vaild but we still celebrate it. we don't go all out...we just go out to dinner and simple stuff....no presents

i totally agree. IMO - it is a forced holiday. i would rather FI do something nice for me because he wants to and not because he feels like he HAS to.

Said perfectly!!! I agree... I remember some single valentines day's that were kind of stinky when everyone around you is showered by flowers and presents. I MUCH rather get something for no reason at all

i used to hate it so much when i was single....it sucked. especially in high school when they would go around to home rooms and hand out flowers for those people who had someone. ugh. but now, it is just another day and we just like to give each other something to show that we honor the day, but we surprise each other with gifts often.

i agree but still celebrate although i make sure my close friends that arent with anyone dont feel left out and buy them a valentine and some flowers or candy. i remember how horrible it was to be single on this day was
