It's official...

...I know when my showers are. I'm really bummed. A couple of months ago I overheard my FMIL talking (loudly) about them and potential dates, but now I just read something and it had the info on there. I really wanted to be surprised, but I guess I should just be thrilled that everyone cares about me enough to have two different ones.

Please tell me it will still be everything I've dreamed of even though I won't be surprised!

I'm sure your shower is going to be wonderful! Even though you know the date, it'll be great that you get to spend the day with all of your friends and family!

It will still be great! At least you know when to look really good! I'm sure you're still going to be shocked when you see all the people who come because they care about you.

You know what?

they MAY know you are looking and be fooling you - I put 2 and 2 together and was so disappointed that I knew when my shower was, and because I was so focused on that date, they totally snowed me!!!

they made enough 'oops' remarks to have me believe it was a date, and then did it the weekend before on our way to somewhere else - so dont be sad yet!!!

I did not want to be surprised. Mine is tommorow. I'm so happy people want to celebrate with me. Plus I'm getting married! You'll be just as excited!

Your shower will still be wonderful! My mom just sent me an invitation to my own shower!!!! I am not one who is easily surprised, so she knew it's better to just let me know!!! Hee Hee!

Not sure if you remember but this happened to me...I found out the week before via my brother...I cried for three days...I was so pissed and upset...BUT I decided to get my hair and makeup done and make the best of it...there were still things to be surprised about and I had a great time.....I would never tell him BUT it was almost better because I would have been so overwhelmed if I didn't know....so trust me I know how it feels and you will have an awesome time!

Oh and people still thought I was surprised...because I was crying when everyone yelled surprise...it was an overwhelming feeling!

Katie, you're going to have so much fun regardless of whether you know or didn't know! I agree with the other posters that now you can be prepared, get your hair and makeup done, and REALLY make an entrance!!!

Oh I know how you feel this happened to me it will be and they may even try to recover the surprise which is what happened to me it will be beuatiful still trust me!

Maybe they are trying to get you to think its that date so they can surprise you? Thats what my friend just did. My baby shower was supposed to be the next Saturday, and they got me a week early!

ooohhh katie....im sorry that the surprise factor was lost. But it will still be a wonderful day...honestly...all that you could hope for and more!
Chin up....just keep the goal in sight....suprised ruined or not.....just a few more months and you will be Chris' wife!!!!

Sorry your not gonna be surpised...I found out by accident also---I was so disappointed, but I was still excited b/c I didn't know what was planned for me....they really did make everything sooo beautiful for me!!! So don't worry.....

thanks so much ladies. i feel a litlte better, although FMIL called me last night and talked to me all about the shower she is throwing, despite FH telling her many times I don't want to know anything!!!! I wanted to hang up on her!!! I'm sad that she can't respect the fact that I don't want to know anything, but excited that she is planning something at all. Thanks again for all the advice.
