It sure did rain for me on Saturday!

My shower was on Saturday at Arno's on 38th street in manhattan. I love that place and I recommend it to anyone who is looking to throw an event at an Italian place in NYC.

I knew my shower was in Saturday (found out 10 days ago) so to throw me off FH first drove me to a place in Astoria (no shower there) then another place in Astoria (no shower there) and then finally headed over the 59th Street bridge. At that point I had a sneaking suspicion it was Arno's.

My mom and sister went all out. Everything was beautiful -- flowing champage and strawberries, amazing passed shrimp cocktail, bruscetta, salmon and so much more followed by a three course sit down dinner. The gifts I got were so incredibly generous. There were 53 people in attendance who bought out both my registries leaving only tiny things on them. Now I need a house! I was so amazed.

My bridesmaids did the nicest things as part of their gifts. One created a scrapbook with gift certificates to a ton of local restaurants me and FH love. My sister and another BM made a scrapbook of me growing up through the years. Another friend got me 4 all-clad pots and filled them - the first was seasonings, the second a cookbook, the third chicken (yes real chicken) and veggies to cook, the final - lingerie 'in case it all just burns'. Another BM told the story of our friendship when she gave me her gifts - which included a beautiful frame for wedding photos.

My mom bought all my fine china and silverware, a ton of bedding and lingerie - I cannot thank her enough. And my little sister (she is married and not really so little) - she planned it all and bought me FH's ridiculously expensive knives, all out steaknives and casual flatware, three sets of bedding - she just went nuts. I am so fortunate and blessed that I am tearing just writing this.
