It was our choice, Live with it!!!!!

Ever since we starting telling people that we booked the place in VT FMIL has done but complained.
Why would they pick someplace so far?
Answer - you have to travel 4.5 hours to come to bklyn so what is the difference if you travel 6 hours to vermont?

It is going to be too cold there for me.
Answer - why are you complaining? you live in the mountains of upstate NY where today it is 33 and VT is 29 degrees. not much of a diff is it?

I dont have that kind of money to there.
Answer - No one asked you for any money. In fact we even told you that we are paying for your lodging and paying gas for brother driving you there!!!!

It's called a winter coat. You own one. Put it on. While you're at it, add the scarf, gloves and hat that you already have, too.

I dont have that kind of money to there.
Lucky for guests, they get either save the dates or they talk to the bride and groom and learn about the wedding date. And lucky for you again that you have a WHOLE YEAR to save for it!!!

I just wanted you to laugh about it. Everyone HAS to say SOMETHING!
They did it to me about the cold. When my aunt said she'd freeze, I told her that the wedding was INDOORS, so she'd be fine.

this is funny - ppl will talk no matter what - i always say its a lot easier to complain than anything else! ppl just dont think to realize that complaining hurts others and tears ppls dreams

If they're going to make such a big stink about it they should stay home. Last year I tried to plan a bachelorette party for my friend and her 4 sister in laws all complained behind my back to the brides fiance that they didn't like having it on a Sunday. Meanwhile the Bride could only have it on a Sunday because her day off was Monday. Not to mention the fact that the wedding was on a Sunday, I'm sure they complained about that also. People love to complain, in fact I'm complaining about them right now. THe bride ended up canceling the bachelorette party

hhahaha I can identify- bc we are getting married in Ireland!

I feel like saying to them- 'That's why we are getting married overseas, so you won't come'

People should be happy that hey can go see vermont for a little weekend, and esp since you are paying for lodging!!!

I so know what you are going through. It's your and your future husband's wedding. It's
your and your future husband's decisions. Not
your FMIL's decision. She should be happy and just accept your decisions. She had her wedding already.

As an OOT bride I feel your pain. At first my mother wanted me to have the wedding in Boston, which is 8 hrs away from me. That would be really convenient But after she got used to the idea of a NY wedding, it got a little better. But she made me cry at a dinner celebrating our engagement. She said no one would come to our wedding!
