Ever since we starting telling people that we booked the place in VT FMIL has done but complained.
Why would they pick someplace so far?
Answer - you have to travel 4.5 hours to come to bklyn so what is the difference if you travel 6 hours to vermont?
It is going to be too cold there for me.

I dont have that kind of money to there.

we are just inviting imitate family.
to be completely honest those that we really want/need to be there will and that is all that really matters to us.
His mother is complaining but we know that she will go. FH says that is how that generation is, they have to complain about something.
there are others that are complaining also but to tell the truth, we dont really care if they come or not. certain ones we actually hope dont come but we have to invite them.
It will all work out well for you both and it will be a lovely, lovely day in VT!

In Re: to your orignal post, I think that it's your wedding and since you choose a place that is special to you & yuor FH then that's all that matters.
We just got back from a destination wedding, which required (2 flights each way![]()

at first we were bummed b/c we had to cancel our vacation (we found out about it 8 weeks before)
We loved it, though, in fact FH now wants one. It was great how it really is a wedding weekend, not just a day...![]()

I think you should ignore the annoying questions from everyone and enjoy yourself as far as everyone is concerned it is your day and you should be happy
