The doctor said that sometime throughout the pregnancy the umbilical cord was tied into a knot. He said it could have been like that for the past six months but it was never sinched. When my SIL went to deliver and the baby dropped it sinched the cord and the baby's heart rate and blood pressure dropped. Within 5 minutes she was in the O.R. and the baby was out.
I got to see him today and he is absolutely the most gorgeous (little) baby I ever saw.
James was born at 7:30pm
10 lbs. 5 oz.
24.5 inches
Mother and baby are doing well.
*Between us I just found it so disturbing to find out that the umbilical cord could do that and it can't be spotted on a sonogram. What's even worse is that the Dr. said that it is one of the top reasons babies are stillborn.* I thank God that he is healthy.

congrats Auntie!! that sounds pretty scary! we had a scary moment when my sis gave birth too....my niece's heart rate had gone down and they rushed my sis out w/ an oxygen mask on....I had a panic attack! it was like I was giving birth! thank god everything is ok though!! many blessings on the new bundle of joy!!
