It was scary there for a moment but.........I'M AN AUNT AGAIN!!!

The doctor said that sometime throughout the pregnancy the umbilical cord was tied into a knot. He said it could have been like that for the past six months but it was never sinched. When my SIL went to deliver and the baby dropped it sinched the cord and the baby's heart rate and blood pressure dropped. Within 5 minutes she was in the O.R. and the baby was out.

I got to see him today and he is absolutely the most gorgeous (little) baby I ever saw.

James was born at 7:30pm

10 lbs. 5 oz.

24.5 inches

Mother and baby are doing well.

*Between us I just found it so disturbing to find out that the umbilical cord could do that and it can't be spotted on a sonogram. What's even worse is that the Dr. said that it is one of the top reasons babies are stillborn.* I thank God that he is healthy.

Congratulations on becoming an Aunt!!!!

I am so glad that everything worked out and that little James and his Mom are doing well. They definitely had an Angel watching over them!!!!

And by the way.... holy cow... James is a big boy!!!
I don't think that I have ever heard of a baby being 24.5 inches long at birth!!! My sister had a baby that was 23 inches and the Dr. measured 3 times because he said he had never delivered one that long. My other sister had a 10lb 2oz baby boy so big babies run in my family!!!
