Try Medford Pasteria....the shopping plaza is not great but the restuart is like stepping into Italy. The food is great. It is located on Horseblock Road in Medford by Island Recreation Pools.

There are a few good ones in Huntington and that general area. I LOVE Tello in downtown Huntington. Pomodorino on Jericho Turnpike is good (maybe a little loud) and kid-friendly, too.

You can try the restaurant that I had my Rehearsal Dinner at... it came highly recommended, and it was delicious! It's Venezia Restaurant in Smithtown. Great service too, and not too expensive.

If you are willing to spend just a little bit more than Mama Lombardi's, I suggest and it's a huge recommendation to try Mario's in Hauppauge on Motor Parkway. Best food EVER! But if you are more budget conscious(like I know I am!) La Famiglia in Smithtown is very good. Very loud, though.

Villa Sorrento in Smithtown is excellent, Lombari's in Coram/Middle Island is great also. Both are on Rt. 25.

I was just going to recommend Mario's, that's where we had our RD, their veal parm is the best i've ever had!

Mamma Leonora's on the Sunrise Hwy service road in Patchogue is very good too. The prices are reasonable too.

Sundried Tomatoes in Nesconset has great food as does Il Porto Bello in Port Jeff Station but they are more pizza restaurants. As for a place that has more of an atmosphere, Ciao baby in Commack is excellent
