Italian tradition

I was watching TLC's wedding story and the couple is Italian. They are having a Serenade. They said its a big block party and its traditional in an Italian wedding for the Groom to serenade the Bride before the official wedding. Just wondering if any of you ladies are doing this?

I'm from Spain and in the smaller town there are a group of musically gifted young guys that will serenade women either for a guy or someone they are interested in. I remember being 15 years old and spending the summer at my cousins house and woke up at 3 am to a group of guys standing outside below the balcony to my cousins rom (Yeah, Nice house huh) and one the guys sang to me and delivered me a boquet of hand picked daisies!! It was soo sweet....They were also dressed in renaissance like costumes!! It is a sweet tradition that continues today in some of the small villages!!
