I was thinking of doing 1 cup espresso pots, but being that my entire family has an expresso pot already, My FH & I decided to go with a 2 cup expresso cup set-with the stand. It is very nice-white satin & silver lining on the rim -sorry I dont have any pics. I got them at a favor store in Staten Island that sells imported products.

I REALLY want to do the candy buffet. FI and I think it is so cute, but my mom keeps sending me pitctures of salt and pepper shakers. People wont understand candy, she said. Oh, and of course - almonds! Lots of pictures of almonds!

Ugh....

we're doing the candy buffet instead of attaching the candy to the favors. I LOVE the candy buffet!!! I'll have some Jordan almonds at the buffet, since that's the traditional Italian wedding favor candy. I'm also giving a rose to every lady who walks into the reception (well, I guess the maitre d' will do that for me), a small 'kissing bell' will be the placecard holder (and I want to put a scratch off lottery ticket tucked behind or in a small envelope with the placecard information)... but our main favor will be (for now) a clear glass Christmas ornament with sand and shells inside and the wedding informatoin either written on the ornament or pre-printed on ribbon in my wedding colors attached to the top of the ornament. (I plan on making these myself). I'm not having a cigar roller, but I may get some cigars with the pre-printed labels to have for some of the guys. And, of course, matchbooks.

We are doing donations instead of actual favors and his grandmother is not to thrilled about the idea. Her exact words were 'So So did that for their wedding five years ago and people are still talking about it.' Gotta love it. Oh well at least we will take the pressure off of those people.

unfortunately they don't wrap them, that's the only PIA. wrapping 100 favors probably isn't fun but i guess it's worth it when u think about how much $$$ you're saving.

i went to the wedding coach on 18th ave and they had cute ice buckets that i think i will be doing if i can't find anything else. i think they were like $7 or $8. i will be making the almond flowers w/ the materials from jordanalmondflowers.com also.

I am keeping the favors on the table b/c that's 1 less thing i'll have to do.. i'll get my boost when i go around and say hello at the tables so hopefully there wont be a line at the end of the night

Re: Italian/American Brides...

are most of you girls having a band or DJ?

Nuttela Posted:

Re: Italian/American Brides...

I am having a dj. It was the most convenient if I wanted to hear some of my favorite songs. We will just give the DJ a cd of the Italian songs that I want to play, if they don't already have it.

we were on the fence with this for awhile - first we wanted a DJ, then we changed our minds and wanted a band but when we called Angelo Venuto he was already taken for our date so then we went back to the DJ idea lol
