Italy help please

My FH and I are thinking Italy for the HM. We have never been there. Can anyone give me suggestions on where to go and maybe price range. Thanks.....

Re: Italy help please

We are considering Italy for our honeymoon, although we haven't priced anything out yet.

Ideally, we'd like to go to Rome, Florence, and Venice. Maybe in the reverse order to start laid back and then end with some more active honeymooning (seeing sights etc - more to see in Rome than in Venice).

Can't help with prices, but I hear it's NOT cheap!

If you want complete romance go to Venice (if you are romantic) but it can get expensive since it is such an expensive city.

I also hear that the Tuscany region or the Capri area are beautiful and relaxing.

I think you should decide if you want to relax and see a few sites or would like to see more than a few sites. That will help decide on your costs and locations to stay in Italy.

I have been to rome. it was very nice. It's alot to see. Unfortunetly I didn't really have to pay for anything except my airfare. FH's grandmother lives in Gravina, italy. So we stayed with her and took a train ride to rome for 2 days. It's a beautiful country. And there is great food where ever you go!!

there are a few options.. depends if you want to tour around or relax and take in the beauty..

heres some to help give you an idea..

i go to italy a lot.. but i have family there so i dont really stay in hotels.. when i did it was your basic hotel nothing fancy...

rome, florence and venice... great places for sightseeing, shopping and dining...

capri, amalfi coast, sorrento and positano ( southern italy) great for relaxing, beach and dining out... touristy but not as historical as above...

cinqueterre - ligurian coast.. thats where i got engaged! anyways it has a little of everything.. 5 little towns situated on a cliff that have paths that you can hike that connect each town.. or when tired take the trains! google it for info...

sicily i hear is beautiful as well... there i havent been to yet...

hth
good luck!

you should definately go to Venice... VERY romantic. We went during high season and I kind of expected it to be really over crowded, which the tourist attractions kind of were, but all you have to do is walk like 5 minutes from the main square and you'll find yourselves pretty much alone in really old romantic allies. Its fun to just get lost in the maze of alley ways and bridges and canals.

We too are looking into Italy for our HM (Tuscany area, Rome and possibly Naples) but have not looked into pricing yet. We were thinking of taking a cooking class - anyone know anything about them?

FH and I are doing a cruise that starts and ends in Rome and goes around Italy and Spain. Then we're spending 5 days in Rome at the Visconti Palace.

We're going to Italy on our honeymoon. We are doing an 11 day tour with Globus through Venice, Rome and Florence as well as small towns throughout. THen we're staying in the Almalfi coast for 3 nights.

I have a great travel agent if you are interested...total price flights, hotel, tour, meals was around 9.
