Italy- T.P.?

I told someone I was going to Italy on my honeymoon and they said I should bring toilet paper. Were they just messing with me?

I've been there several times and I've never needed any. What part are you going to?

Re: Italy- T.P.?

Yes they are.. I am sure you are going to places like Rome, Venice, Pompei, Florence, etc... I have never been, but I have family there and my parents have never come back sayingg there was no T.P. It is the small towns you worry about. I know my Zio Audeno goes shopping every day and he buys one roll, but in the hotels you will be fine. Something I bring with me on any vacation is babywipes... I you never know when you need to go in the woods or on the side of the road

Bring a few travel pack tissues. You can carry some in your purse. I was glad I did for 'emergencies' here in the US where places 'ran out' of TP.

Re: Italy- T.P.?

That is so funny, the women here at work were just talking about that. One woman found that she couldn't get TP from some places, but others would have it, and still others would charge you for some. One of my coworkers goes over all the time, she has family there, she said that she has run across places without TP, so you might want to bring some wet ones with you.

Also, some places have just a hole in the ground..they were talking about this too!

Bring wet ones, or baby wipes that can be stored in your pocketbook or backpack. They come in those travel cases now anyways. Have fun in Italy!!

Re: Italy- T.P.?

I went to Italy - Rome, Venice, Florence, Capri, Naples, Sorrento and The Riviera. I had no trouble finding toilet paper, and I never ran into a hole in the ground toilet

However, just like here, you might encounter a public bathroom without toilet paper, so I carried baby wipes with me.

Their TP is recycled so it's a little rougher....that's all.

Re: Italy- T.P.?

I never had problems with this either and I lived there for four months and traveled around. Baby wipes are a good idea though just in case. I do remember sometimes you had to pay to use the restroom in public places and that was the only problem I encountered.
