It's 4:30am, we think there's a racoon in our home!

We awoke at 3:30...not sure what we heard, but turns out in our masterbathroom (which is ripped down to the studs..we have not started working on this yet) my DH left the skylight open (it's raining out, and I tell him to close it all the time...but that's another thread). Anway, someone feel through the screen or ate through the screen. So now we thought we heard some scratching...my cat is freaking.

My DH ran back to his animal hospital to pick up a Have A Heart trap, it's humane, they go in for food and the doors close behind him.

This is going to be a long one!

My DH put out the Have A Heart trap, but the critter didn't touch it..the food wasn't even disturbed.

We are calling our exterminator, maybe he can scare him out or something...he's not going to harm the critter.

I'm worried about the critter...being trapped with no water (there's food in the trap, but apprantely he doesn't like wet cat food).

It's definately nocturnal...not a sound today, but my DH thinks he's still around, just sleeping.

No more games...we're calling in the big guns.

Reminds me of what happened to my sister. My brother in law was doing some extensions on the house and he left a whole in the back of a new closet then went to the back of the house....One night they were sitting outside with their friends eating dinner and they all were looking at the house...and my sister was telling her friends about the extension...when they all looked towards the bedroom and saw a Squirrel Scratching on the window screen....My brother in law and his brother ran upstairs but couldnt catch the squirrel. My sister had to sleep at my house....until her husband caught the squirrel...One night my brother in law saw the squirrel....run into a closet and noticed there was a hole for the attic in there...He went up to the attic and found the squirrel about to jump through the fan...So he did and my brother in law turned the fan on figuring he solved the case...He also fixed the hole in the closet.

The next day...My sister was out back doing some gardening and my brother in laws was making a barby......when all of a sudden they heard this loud whinning noise...My sister looked up into the tree to see the squirrel...and he had part of his neck cut and blood was dripping out.....he was making this wierd noise....He just sat there doing that for 30 minutes and then took off....They havent seen him since.
