I know it has been awhile since I have been on this site. Much has happened since our wedding. My dad's last radiation treatment was 3 days before the wedding and he was so weak that he came close to missing it, but he wouldnt let his little girl down. My dad walked me down the aisle and gave me away to the man I love. Once I get the pictures I will post them up. We spent 2 amazing weeks on our honeymoon in Barcelona and a Mediterranean cruise. When we returned, daddy was there to welcome us back home, but then he was hospitalized a day later.
My dad died last Monday morning, 6/15 3 weeks after the wedding. Last week was truly the hardest in my whole life, I watched my dad pass away, turned 30 4 days later and had my very 1st father's day without him.
I am blessed to have an amazing husband, family and friends who have been keeping me sane. But the one thing I am truly blessed to have had was that day with my dad.
I haven't had the heart to go pick up our pro pics yet with everything going on, so I attached two non-pro pics below.
Thank you to all of those who sent their condolences and prayers.
Hopefully soon I will be able to return back to the site with some pictures and reviews from the wedding, because there are some vendors who truly went above and beyond on that day to make it just right and I couldn't thank them enough.
Update:
Words cannot express how thankful I am to read each of your comforting words. As I sit here at work, shedding some tears, I had to share what my best friend from HS said to me yesterday. She lost her father 4 yrs ago and knew what I was going through. She said to me, ' I know its so hard and it will take time to heal. I am not sure if I told you this but I was speaking to your dad at the wedding and you know what he said to me, he said it was the best day of his entire life.' Just hearing that had me balling on the phone, but realizing he held on, he had the strength to be there on that blessed day and welcome us home and for that I will always be grateful.
From the bottom of my heart, Thank you all so very much.
you really put tears in my eyes and gave me goose bumps ... it is so hard to loose a parent but just thank God that he was able to walk you down the isle ... that was the hardest part for me the day of my wedding and I couldn't breathe but he stayed strong for you untill you got back from the HM too!!! that is amazing! So sorry for your loss!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I have lost a parent myself, so I know how you must feel.
Sounds like your Dad's love for you is so great, that he willed himself to be there on your special day. I am glad you have that memory.
God bless him.

You were blessed to have your dad at your wedding and to have the pictures to always look at to remember that day with him. My FH's dad died about 2 years ago and it is very difficult for him to be getting married without his dad there. Further, my FSIL just got engaged so she will not have her dad there to walk her down the aisle.

I am crying!
I lost my mom this past Sept and I know how hard it is....there isn't a day that goes by where I am not thinking of her. You truly were blessed that your dad was with you on your day. God bless you and your family!
