It's even worse than yesterday

It's even worse than yesterday

Okay, I was almost going to leave my pity party, even though I miss my breakfast cereal and I called my numbers into the doctor. I have to go TODAY to learn about insilin
She is going to start me on overnight first only, but she said that there is a good chance I will need another shot mid-day. My nighttime (dinner) numbers are not bad because our bodies have less prego hormones in them at night.

And anyone who says Slenda tastes just like sugar is crazy....it has an after taste just like all the other pretend sweetners out there....
So you are all invited to my pity party- which will now last longer than I had hoped.

(And yes, I am one of those glass half empty kinda people)

I do agree about splenda

What are your numbers like Michele? What does your Dr. want you to maintain?

Re: It's even worse than yesterday

My fasting numbers (just when I wake up) were 105 yesterday and 115 today- they should be 90 or below.
My lunch time numbers were 128, 152 and my dinner number yesterday was 86 (which is okay). My daytime/night time numbers should be under 120. She said that diet will just not change these types of numbers

Just wanted to give you some hugs.
Between this and the problem with the nerve, you are not having an easy time. I am sorry.
I heard that girls bring out the worst in their mommies so I still say you are having a girl.

Thanks everyone I am not easy to deal with when I am unhappy so Scott is the one who could probably use the support

Im really sorry to hear that. Does the insulin allow your diet to be a little more lax?

Only a few more weeks to go right? Imagine having to do this for your whole life!

I know it's hard but you have to stick it out for you and baby's health. Feel free to vent anytime.

Re: It's even worse than yesterday

Really your Dr. said your diet won't control your numbers. I have been able to control my numbers by diet. In the beginning it was hard and a lot of trial and error with certain foods but now I know what I can and can't have. I'm so sorry they are putting you on insulin right away, they don't want to give you a chance to try and get it under control yourself. At least there is an end in site and you will be kissing and smushing a wonderful little bundle in the end

I'm sorry you have to go through all of this. It ****s but you'll get through it. The perfect baby will make it all worthwhile.

Re: It's even worse than yesterday

The doctor said that my test results and my current numbers prove that diet would make my numbers worse, but they cannot make them better, or make them low enough for it to be safe for me and the baby. My numbers are all over the place so that means the diet is not helping to lower them. I guess it is an individual case by case basis- not just one number that makes the decision.

My diet cannot be more lax. It isn't a general diabete diet. It is specific to gestational diabetes. I asked today about it. That is why I cannot do the sugar free stuff. I asked her about 'what if I cheat once in a while'. She said 'we cannot expect you to be perfect all day, every day but you must be careful and if once in a blue moon you have a bit extra you have to know your numbers will be high and that means the baby gets the extra too.'

I cried in the office today too. The idea of giving myself a needle is not an easy one for me.
