It's Monday Morning and I have a story of my own -- Long but good

Hello all:

Boosh and I attended a wedding this weekend for my cousin who I am very close with. The affair was held at Villa Lombardi's, which was a great hall and the food was excellent.

Anyway, check this out. I've never seen this before in my life. If I was my cousin, I'd be furious.

A little background: Her MOH was her best friend. The girl is married with a 1 year old daughter. She is married for about two years and was with her husband for 5 years before that. He makes a killing at his job, they have a beautiful home and because of his salary, she doesn't have to work. The problem is that his salary comes at a price. He is constantly travelling, so they never see each other, and she's at home all day with the baby and basically raises the child alone. On top of this, one of her friend's brother's is a recovering drug addict and has been spending alot of time with her. For whatever reason, he can't work.

So, the night before the affair, the MOH gets in a big fight with her husband in which she tells him she doesn't love him AND has feelings for this other guy (the recovering addict), AND that the marriage is over. She says these things in haste and then gets really upset because she feels she overreacted.

So, now we get to the wedding day. The MOH shows up at my cousin's at 5 a.m. (Hair appointment was at 6). She was wearing nothing but a bathrobe and slippers and starts crying to my cousin about the incident. Another bridesmaid, a mutual friend of my cousin's and MOH, tells MOH that while she understands her pain, that it is my cousin's day and that she needs to put it aside for the day, and that if she can't walk down the aisle and be happy for one day, she needs to let them know now. MOH says she will be fine.

They get to the hall, and my cousin and DH saw each other before the ceremony for pics. When they see each other for the first time, it's obviously a very happy moment. Seeing 2 people in love is too much for MOH and she runs to the bridal suite crying hysterically. the other bridesmaid goes after and repeats what she told her earlier and that if she can't go through with it, she better speak now. MOH says she will be fine.

So, now we get to the ceremony and they do the candle lighting ceremony with a nice love song in the background (forget the name). The maid of honor is trying to hold in her pain and starts shaking. Finally, we see her burst out crying hysterically in front of everyone, ruining the moment she runs up the aisle and into the bridal suite.

What do you all think. My cousin was not mad, she felt sorry that her MOH is going through this. Boosh and I would have been furious. Not only did she pick a REALLY bad time to do this, she took away from their moment. Hopefully, this can be edited out of the video without having to take the whole candle lighting out. If it were me, I would have told her to not even bother staying for the reception.

But, that's just me

I think I would have more sympathy for the MOH if the husband had told her he wanted to leave, didn't love her, etc.

Unfortunately she made some bad decisions and now has to deal with them.

Your cousin is a good person to be able not to get upset especially since the MOH caused the situation.

Everyone said that why did she have to do this on our cousins wedding day and during the ceremony. All of our family was giving her looks at the cocktail hour.

A coworker was just telling me that her cousin's wife told him she waslevinghim,in the middle of my friend's wedding. I think after the ceremony or during the CH or something. She didn't know this tll later, she was wondering why cousin so & so left early.

Wow, the audacity of some people. I would have been furious as well.

As a side note, my MIL did something similar at her niece's wedding. Unbelieveable.

I don't think the girl meant to be rude by getting upset. But if I were here I think I would have told the bride that maybe it was not a good idea I was there at the ceremony considering what had happened the night before.

Actually I would have waited to tell my husband I didn't want to be married anymore, until AFTER your cousin's wedding. That way I wouldn't have to risk being so upset.

But what is done is done. She could have tried to hold it together better but as someone that gets emotional at a drop of a hat myself I know that sometimes holding it together is very hard.

I think your cousin is a very good friend not to be upset.

I don't know. I mean, the ciurcumstances of her proboems with ehr husbnad and kind of strang,e but at the same time, it si't her fault she was upset and coudn't handle it. Maybe she thought she could and really wanted to try hard to be a part of her cousin's wedding, not wanting to look bakc on her cousin's day feeling like she coudnt be a part of it, ro she ruined it. She ruined parts of it anyway, but I'm sure she didn't do it on purpose. Would you guys feel differently about it if the shoe hd been on the toher foot and her DH had said those things to her the night before?

she could have waited till that night to tell her husband that it was over

She should definitley have tried a lot harder. She should not have been 'selfish'. If she couldnt handle it, she should not have been there as MOH.
I feel bad your cousin went through this. I think I wouldve been understanding, however, very angry!

i think that is really selfish of her! although i am sure she is dealing with her own pain...her happiness for her best friend should have outshined it on thiat day. i feel so sorry for the bride! im glad she is a better person...i give her credit!
