It's Official.....

It's Official.....

I am Mrs P.

I went to Social Security today & surrendered my maiden name! As of midnight tonight, I will officially have a shorter name!!!!

Next week, I go to DMV & change all the bank records!! Here is to being a married lady!!!

WOOHOO! I went this week too. Did your social security office take your maiden Soc Sec card and shred it right in front of you? I was full of anger, sadness, and disbelief when they did that. I feel like I have no identity for the next few weeks before they send the new card. Obviously they don't have job interviews to go on in the next few weeks.

It definately was strange to see them take the SS card from me!!! They told me i will have my new card within a week!!!! Now I need to continue on with the name changing fun!!!

Congrats! It is pretty cool isnt it?

You dont need your current card to get a new one. I never saw the original card that was issued to my and given to my parents. I just told them who I was, filled out the paperwork and voila I am Mrs. S!
