We cannot afford a house. dh and I went to a loan officer today and got the bad news. Fun part is, it's my MIL's fault.
Don't get discouraged. The prices are still coming down. In the mean time just keep saving. The more you have to put down the less you need to borrow. I know you will get something. Don't let ANYONE stand in your way. Good luck!!

I'm selling or Renting a Large 1 Br House, Full Bath, EIK, 1/4 Fenced Acre and LOVE LOVE LOVE Dog People. It's in the Mastic Shirley area, but is in an adorable bayside community and only 12 miles from Holbrook. Not so bad....if you're interested FM me. As the owner, I'm even considering holding the mortgage for new owners since the loan industry has such tough standards right now.

ohhh I'm so sorry! Maybe consider going for a coop? We had to change gears from a house to a coop, because with the price of oil, there was no way we could afford a mortgage, li taxes, heat the house & still eat![]()

Im so sorry. Maybe you can rent for a year and try again. I know its so hard now to get a loan. The banks are raising their standards now because of all the issues with the market. Hopefully it will improve soon.

well you could sell the house and make her find a new place to live but doubt DH will like that idea! Im so glad my MIL lives in Florida!!

We're living with my MIL so we don't have to waste money renting. Thanks though.
It's going to be touch since I really can't stand her.
maybe you can have your mil take out a new loan to pay off the existing loan your dh has since she made his take it out
