It's official . . .

We cannot afford a house. dh and I went to a loan officer today and got the bad news. Fun part is, it's my MIL's fault.

ohhh I'm so sorry! Maybe consider going for a coop? We had to change gears from a house to a coop, because with the price of oil, there was no way we could afford a mortgage, li taxes, heat the house & still eat

i agree. Co-ops are the new starter homes, whether we like it or not.

Try having a 100lb dog... Co-op isn't an option, I can either rent or I have to buy a house... SOOOOO Sorry to hear about not being able to afford a house :(

My bro is selling his co-op in Islip. It's at like $130K or something.

How could it be you MIL's fault?

Everything happens for a reason - maybe something better will come along in a couple of years.

I'm selling or Renting a Large 1 Br House, Full Bath, EIK, 1/4 Fenced Acre and LOVE LOVE LOVE Dog People. It's in the Mastic Shirley area, but is in an adorable bayside community and only 12 miles from Holbrook. Not so bad....if you're interested FM me. As the owner, I'm even considering holding the mortgage for new owners since the loan industry has such tough standards right now.
