It's the Wednesday QOTD!!!

Since there have been a LOT of ceremony/reception music questions over the past two days. . .

If you had NO restrictions as to the type of music you could play at your ceremony, what would you select?

I think FH and I would still stick with the same type of ceremony music that we have selected. We're music dorks/snobs. . .

I was going to ask another music question, but I'll save it for tomorrow!!!!!!!

I don't really think I would do anything too different than what I am doing...we are mixing in all types of music but I think I would want NIN's 'Closer' because I love the beat and everything but it is a bit raunchy to play at the wedding...LOL

I wish I could get a swing band but there aren't enough people coming who swing dance and I decided it would be inconsiderate.

EDA:Oops this said ceremony! I answered reception!

We don't have any limits at our reception... we're doing it at the RH. I just love Canon in D because FH plays it on the piano all the time. I know I want that played. I don't know what I want to walk in to, though, yet. I don't know much about classical music. Maybe something very traditional.

Megan, could you post some links to music files (like on youtube) of songs that might be ceremony appropriate?

We didn't have any limits either since it was at the RH. It was nice that we were able to do more personalized touches there. When my BP heard the song they were walking in to ('Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Israel K) they got excited

Probably same music, but if I wasn't in the church it would have a been a string quartet.

I would have liked to have a string quartet. I'm EXTREMELY limited as to the song choices as well as the instrument. It's organ or vocal chanting or nothing. I used to play violin, so I always had a soft spot for strings.

I'm going to walk down the aisle to the instrumental version of 'Ave Maria'...when I used to go to Hunter College there was this man who would play a keyboard in the train station and sing 'Ave Maria' - it was so beautiful I swear I cried everytime I heard him singing. If I could, I would totally get him to sing at my wedding!
