not sure where to stay, but as far as what to do - you HAVE to go to Fauenil Hall (spelling?) We used to go to Boston all the time as kids and walking around there was probably my most favorite things to do. There's a bunch of shops, and if it's nice out there are usually street performers around too. I haven't been there in a long time - so that's actually all I can remember!
Fodors.com has a lot of info on Boston too - that might help you

I live just outside Boston, so I'm very happy to help if I can.
Both the Aquarium and the Museum of Science are a lot of fun to go to. Faneuil Hall Marketplace is a really pretty outdoor shopping area, although most of the stores are chains (Gap, Crate and Barrel, Body Shop, etc) that you can visit on LI. As bluegrl mentions though there are usually performers out and about, and lots of good food, so its still worth a visit.
What type of food interests you?
I can't think of bed and breakfasts in Boston itself, if you'd consider the suburbs I could make some suggestions. Otherwise, I'd encourage you to look at the hotels around Copley Square -- there are a few nice ones, and they are in a convenient location.

Calla,
thank you!
Well, the soccer team and families are staying at teh Marriott in Newton. I'd rather stay someplace different since we have no kids (sorry to be a snob here)...but we are still newlyweds and I'd like to find a little romance on this weekend and not just amongst 14 yr old girls and boys (and lots of them)....The tournament takes place in Needham...Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Food, DH likes meat and potatos, I am more open...of course Italian....

Hmmmm, I have actually never been to Needham, so I can't be too helpful there. I can tell you though that priceline has great deals on hotels in that area if you are flexible. Check out BiddingforTravel.com to get a sense of the prices other people are getting in the area. Staying in Boston or Cambridge (which I am much more familiar with) would likely costs more than double.
In terms of restaurants, for your hubby I'd recommend Smith & Wollensky -- I know there is one in NY, but the Boston one is in a really unique building that is worth seeing. It looks like a castle, and the food/service are great.
For you, I'd suggest wandering to the 'North End' of Boston and just randomly choosing whatever Italian restaurant looks good. Yum, yum.
To stay in the suburbs, but still have a memorable experience, consider Blue Ginger which is run by a 'celebrity chef' and is really an interesting place. (Make reservations waaaaaay in advance.)
